This year, we introduced some new awards. Here's a brief overview of the 10 award categories available for 2027:

1. Clean Air and Carbon Reduction Strategy of the Year – | CLICK TO SPONSOR AWARD

This award recognises an organisation that has delivered a measurable improvement in air quality, emissions reduction or carbon performance through its fleet operation.

Entries should demonstrate how the organisation has gone beyond minimum compliance and delivered clear benefits for public health, local air quality, operational efficiency or the transition to lower-emission vehicles. Submissions should include evidence such as emissions data, fuel or energy use, air quality improvements, CO2e reductions, particulate reductions, vehicle replacement strategies, charging or fuelling infrastructure, or operational changes that have reduced environmental impact.

2. Fleet Safety Strategy of the Year | CLICK TO SPONSOR AWARD

This award recognises an organisation that has delivered a measurable improvement in staff safety, driver safety, public safety or vulnerable road user protection.

Entries should show how the organisation has moved beyond basic compliance to create a safer fleet operation. Submissions should include evidence such as collision reduction, incident trends, driver behaviour data, training outcomes, technology adoption, risk management improvements, near-miss reporting, cultural change or improvements in public safety.

3. Fleet Transformation Strategy of the Year | CLICK TO SPONSOR AWARD

This award recognises an organisation that has delivered a significant fleet transformation project over the past twelve months.

Entries may cover areas such as fleet modernisation, depot electrification, digitalisation, route optimisation, procurement reform, workshop improvement, asset utilisation, alternative fuels, safety performance, emissions reduction or operational restructuring. Judges will look for a clear challenge, a well-executed strategy, measurable outcomes and evidence that the project has improved the organisation’s fleet performance.

4. Fleet Team of the Year | CLICK TO SPONSOR AWARD

This award recognises a fleet, transport, workshop, compliance or operations team that has delivered outstanding performance over the past twelve months.

Entries should demonstrate strong teamwork, leadership, service delivery, resilience and measurable improvement. Judges will consider evidence of customer or public service, safety, sustainability, cost control, staff development, collaboration, innovation and the team’s ability to overcome operational challenges.

5. Fleet Innovation Project of the Year | CLICK TO SPONSOR AWARD

This award recognises a project, partnership or initiative that has introduced a genuinely innovative approach to fleet operations.

Entries may come from fleet operators, suppliers, manufacturers, technology providers, local authorities or collaborative partnerships. Judges will look for innovation that has moved beyond the concept stage and delivered measurable benefits in areas such as safety, emissions reduction, efficiency, cost control, service delivery, workforce development or public value.

6. Industry Personality of the Year | CLICK TO SPONSOR AWARD

This award recognises an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the fleet, transport, safety, sustainability or specialist vehicle sector over the past year.

The winner will have demonstrated leadership, influence, integrity and a positive impact on their organisation, customers, colleagues or the wider industry. This may include championing innovation, raising standards, supporting others, improving public service, driving cultural change or helping the sector move forward.

7. Fleet Hardware Product of the Year | CLICK TO SPONSOR AWARD

This award recognises a physical product, component, item of equipment or vehicle-related hardware solution that has delivered clear benefits for fleet operators.

Eligible entries may include safety equipment, vehicle components, charging equipment, workshop equipment, waste or cleansing equipment, telematics hardware, camera systems, retrofit technology, battery systems or other fleet-related physical products.

The product must have been launched or significantly updated within the past two years. Entries should demonstrate proven benefits for end users in areas such as safety, sustainability, emissions reduction, operational performance, reliability, productivity, cost reduction or whole-life value.

This category does not include complete vehicles.

8. Fleet Software or Digital Solution of the Year | CLICK TO SPONSOR AWARD

This award recognises a physical product, component, item of equipment or vehicle-related hardware solution that has delivered clear benefits for fleet operators.

This category does not include complete vehicles.

9. Specialist Vehicle of the Year (up to 7.5 Tonnes) | CLICK TO SPONSOR AWARD

This award recognises an outstanding specialist vehicle with a gross vehicle weight of up to 7.5 tonnes.

Judges will assess the vehicle’s design, innovation, safety, efficiency, operational performance, environmental impact and value for money. Entries should demonstrate how the vehicle supports the needs of specialist fleet operators, including urban operations, public service, cleansing, maintenance, last-mile delivery, accessibility, emissions reduction, or operational productivity.

The vehicle must have been launched or significantly updated within the past two years.

10. Specialist Vehicle of the Year (over 7.5 Tonnes) | CLICK TO SPONSOR AWARD

This award recognises an outstanding specialist vehicle with a gross vehicle weight above 7.5 tonnes. Judges will assess the vehicle’s design, innovation, safety, efficiency, operational performance, environmental impact and whole-life value. Entries should demonstrate how the vehicle supports heavy-duty or specialist fleet operations, including refuse collection, highways, construction, municipal services, emergency support, logistics, infrastructure, winter maintenance, or other demanding operational environments.

The vehicle must have been launched or significantly updated within the past two years.

General Entry Criteria

Each award entry must be submitted individually and tailored specifically to the category entered. Fleet Vision International will not accept the same entry, or substantially similar entries, across multiple categories.

Organisations may enter more than one category, but each submission must clearly address the specific criteria for that award and provide relevant evidence for that category.

All entries must be written specifically for the Fleet Vision International Awards. Generic submissions, recycled entries from other awards schemes, or entries that refer to having been submitted to another awards programme may be marked down by the judges.

Entries should clearly explain the challenge, the action taken, the results achieved and why the submission deserves recognition. Judges will look for measurable evidence, operational impact, innovation, leadership, and relevance to the fleet, specialist vehicle, public service, safety, sustainability, or transport sectors.

Where possible, entries should include supporting evidence such as data, case studies, testimonials, performance improvements, emissions reductions, safety outcomes, cost savings, service improvements, photographs, links, or other relevant material.

Claims must be accurate, verifiable and supported by evidence. Entries that rely on broad marketing statements without proof may be marked down.

Entries should relate to work, projects, products, services or vehicles delivered, launched or significantly developed within the last two years, unless otherwise stated in the individual category criteria.

Supplier, manufacturer and technology provider entries should demonstrate clear benefits for the end user. Client evidence, operator feedback or real-world deployment data will strengthen the submission.

Entries must not contain confidential, commercially sensitive or third-party information unless the entrant has permission to share it with the judges and, where applicable, for publication.

The judges reserve the right to move an entry to a more suitable category, request further information, withhold an award, or disqualify entries that do not meet the criteria.

The judges’ decision is final.
